How I became a Sydney wellness coach

I wasn’t always the happy and content person I am now. It’s taking me a few years and some coaching of my own, to get me where I am today. There was no quick fix. No ’10 Easy Steps to a Happier You’. There was only the decision that I needed to address some things in my life and I wanted to change how I was handling them.
At first, the usual thoughts went through my head – all the reasons why I couldn’t or shouldn’t see someone to help me:
- “Nothing’s worked before, why should this be any different”
- “I just need to deal with it and stop complaining”
- “It will be to hard to deal with my issues”
I had the usual fears that come with making changes in your life, but I knew I needed someone to help me work through these thoughts. Somebody I could trust. Somebody who understood what I was going through and would support me as we started working together.
My first introduction to wellness coaching
When a friend suggested Reiki, I went with an open, but slightly apprehensive mind. I didn’t really know anything about the practice, but I was ready to give it a go. I’d heard about Reiki but didn’t know what it involved. After the first session, I left with a clearer mind than I’d had in years. With each month that passed, I found a greater clarity within myself and a greater intuitive sense. I began to realise that I was no longer feeling angry and confused, but happy and in control. I had the power to change the way I lived my life and what my future would look like.
How wellness coaching became my passion
With this new understanding of myself, I began to explore other modalities of healing. I discovered neurolinguistic programming (NLP), emotional freedom technique (EFT), hypnotherapy, meditation and combined therapy cocktail(CTC), to the next few years I qualified as a CTC Master Practitioner and CTC Weight loss Practitioner. Individually, each one of these techniques helps with healing, but when used together in a combined therapy cocktail (CTC), the results are profound. I now had a treatment protocol that worked. I also found that I was highly intuitive, only I had never been taught how to interpret what I was sensing. It became a natural part of the healing process and I knew I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences with other people; especially women, who were feeling or experiencing similar emotions.
The next years were spent qualifying as a:
- Reiki Master Practitioner
- NLP Practitioner
- EFT Practitioner
- Meditation Facilitator and
- Life Coach
I spent my time gaining in-depth knowledge about the treatment modalities I had experienced and learning to trust my intuitive sense. I trained with the founder and creator of CTC to fully understand the process. My session had been instrumental in teaching me to let go of the negative self-talk that had been constant for so long. I continued seeing my reiki master for ongoing sessions, so I could continue healing my body, mind and spirit. I know that these sessions played an important part in my journey to happiness and are one of the reasons I now do what I do.
Who do I help?
Ten years ago, I created Heartfelt by Christine Safi. It was the best decision I ever made. I now use my own experiences and intuition to work with a wide range of people to help them heal and grow. I help 10-year olds develop coping strategies for when their older and teach seniors some new tricks! I help women in their 20s try to find their passion, and women in their 40s try to find themselves. I’ve helped people from different religions and sceptics with very rigid beliefs. If you want to work through your thoughts, I offer a no-judgement, calm and safe space to do it.
My passion is to help people overcome their fears and achieve a life of health and happiness. I can do this online or face-to-face, whichever suits you best.
